Popular Post nywaw Posted October 19 Popular Post Posted October 19 Well, it's been awhile since I've shot a buck! I was fortunate enough to get out yesterday afternoon and seal the deal on this beauty of an 8 pointer! I actually had an opportunity to kill this buck last year but opted to let him go to see how much more he'd put on if he were lucky enough to survive, which would prove to be a challenging task as he already had an open wound last year right between the shoulder blades and again this year had a close call with a wound through the top of his neck! Obviously a lot of risk letting him go with the pressure in the area, but I'm glad he made it through and gave me an another chance this year! He was also an 8 last year and put on some great mass this year and a little more length. I had him on cam a few nights but he slipped up two days ago right at last light, so I headed in yesterday afternoon hoping he'd make the same mistake and fortunately for me, he did! I was able to put a great shot on him at around 22 yards or so, and he made it about 125 yards before crashing! Here's some pics! And some more pics from the hunt! Where I shot, terrible zoomed in quality but you can see the lighted nock after the pass through... The bolt... Scrapes along the way while blood trailing, there were probably 4 or 5 I spotted... And where I found him, looks like he was on a full bore run and slid when he finally fell Entrance on a quartering away And exit... And the most recent wound right on top of the neck! Spaceman Spiff, Chromeslayer, ChevyZr297 and 29 others 24 2 6
