ZAG Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Hectic night I forgot to post here instead of lfw. So he was hunting in a new stand I setup last weekend. Needed to get further down the food plot. The redneck is a little far away from most of the action. Little after 6 a doe showed up and he came out soon after. Chased her away the opposite way then circled back around and he stopped about 25yrds broadside in the wide open plot. I just got a cell cam pic of a doe and a tail in the corner of the plot. So I texted him what’s going on. A couple seconds later he called and said he shot a nice buck. Said shot looked good and he struggled leaving. Called me back a few minutes later said he found the arrow, had blood and some white stuff on it. Based on the direction he went (towards how we exit) I told him to walk the long way over to me. Drove around and entered from a different direction and struggled to find much blood in the plot. Once off the plot it was much easier. After about 120-150yrds my son said there he is! Shot was good on entry and low on exit. Super proud of em! Got multiple pics of him and I saw him about a week ago. 016579003177313-95-2-10252024082139-W1000145.mp4 Ncountry, SilentStalker, Water Rat and 18 others 17 4
JohnPlav Posted November 11 Posted November 11 (edited) I have a major project going on at work, so I knew yesterday morning would be my last hunt during bow season. I decided to take crossbow to my pop up blind on my friends new property, which has had lots of different bucks moving in daylight. After a relatively slow first hour, I got startled by a doe and a big buck running past at full speed. Right behind them were 2 smaller bucks that stopped about 15 yards from the blind. One clearly had a bigger body, so he was the winner. Quartering-to shot with a Rage got both lungs, and a full pass through, leaving a massive blood trail and an easy track job. This is the first buck either of us killed at this spot, so keeping with tradition the rack will go to my buddy so it can remain on the property. Between work and personal stuff, I've hunted less this year than ever before. Happy and thankful that it worked out this way.
