Weird and Gross Deer

I watched the 7 my son shot for a while the Thursday before. Noticed his left ear would flop like a dog while the right remained rigid. He was constantly also "hoofing" at it. Well we found out why. Lots of dead deer over my life but never seen an ear infection before. And yes it smelled as bad as it looked.

Pulled a non cell cam on Friday and saw this guy. Poor bastard

The meat will be fine. But it is a nasty ear infection. I've seen it a couple times. Was told by a DEC biologist that it usually starts with a black fly bite.

yeah not worried about the meat. Felt bad for him though, that has to be annoy as heck
