G-man Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 Took about 3 hours but got most of trail clear of leaves to most of the treestands.. ( about 3 miles worth cleared) makes it a lot easier to sneak into stands at a fast pace for hunting. Bonus is they stay relatively free and make turkey hunting a lot easier as you can move rapidly a long distance quietly in spring. GreeneHunter, Swamp_bucks, 2BuckBizCT and 5 others 8
Caeden4 Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 Cleared mine last week but some trees hadn't dropped their leaves yet and it's back to crunchy already
GreeneHunter Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 I did that a few years ago on my trail to ladder stand , worked out great -- nice and quiet ! I'm heading out again tomorrow ( Crossbow) afternoon maybe I'll bring a rake to get the trail ready for gun season ! G-man 1
fletchny11 Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 Yea I gotta get in mid day and mow mine, lot easier than raking! Makes slipping in a lot easier.
The Back 40 Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 I finally got out last weekend to clear a few downed trees and brush hog the trails. I am way behind this year on everything because of work and I have been working on home projects. I still want to put up one new stand for gun season, better late than never, I guess.
dbHunterNY Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 i used to do this when i was young but the damn deer started using them and i don't want them coming into the stand from that same direction. GreeneHunter 1
