Deer hide

Has anyone ever had a deer hide tanned in NY? Anyone know what the cost would be?

If a buck gets confused by the heat and happens to walk by my stand I want to do something with it besides a trophy.

I know there are places you can send it out to. Or contact a taxidermist.

Used to be 80 bucks like 10 years ago, but probably twice that now. Fewer tanneries out there now

I got one done years ago and it was like $100. I'm sure it's closer to 2 now.

I’ve had them done , hair on and hair off by Anothy Scourza .legendary texi he mounted Ling Ling the Chinese panda in the Smithsonian ! 

He died long ago, and with that nobody local  that I know of .

I've had a few whitetail hides tanned with hair on over the years. The last one was three years ago and it cost me $150. Dropped it off at the he local taxidermist. He shipped it to Moyles in Idaho. He was complaining that all of his local sources had gone out of business. Expect six to eight months before it's returned to you. They make a great conversation piece.
