Was given a john deere 300 industrial diesel tractor.  Guy couldn't keep it running longer than a few min got sick of  it.  Well got bucket off the ground and towed it home.

Found air filter was plugged.. intake to air box had  mouse nest completely  blocking intake.

Had fuel leak on throttle adjustment on  fuel injection pump.

Exhaust header snapped off at muffler ( must of hit a  tree with it).

So  get online  look up parts  go to dealer and order 2 o rings a retainer and new screw  for pump leak. $ 14.98

Clean  out air box  and get new filter  $9.98.

Replace starter as it seems weak  $208.00

Starts and runs like a champ. Got header and muffler back on.

Still needs brake work and clutch adjusted for reverse.  But  not to bad for a couple of hundred buck.   Will eventually put a back hoe back on it as  that's what this was originally  no pto no 3pt. 20241029_113622.thumb.jpg.ef70225e3a6665858d3609e5ab812f87.jpg20241029_120942.thumb.jpg.4ea6ac0b156030f733f3c3989ffee66f.jpg20241029_120936.thumb.jpg.a523546afb6efbb17b5b1777094866ae.jpg

no pto and no 3 pt hitch makes it not very useful to many. still who cares. loader tractor is always worth something. good luck finding a backhoe. must have remote hook ups to plug the backhoe in and an oversized pump? Don't know much about them.

Those old 300s are strong runners.  Good luck finding a hoe for it in decent condition.

Have the hoe  just need to  make  mounts for it.

Was originally with a back hoe  .  Has a 21 game pump. I have a hoe that only.requires a 13 gpm pump  just need to make  mounts.  Then I won't have to take it on anf.off my other tractor  just leave this as a loader/ backhoe.
