We hunt in a shotgun only area so the 3 of us on the property all use 220's. I shoot the hornady sst and have killed a hand full of deer.....my Dad uses the 2 3/4 Remington and my buddy uses the 3". All three bullets kill deer with proper placement. The 220 is a tack driver and one of my all time favorites to hunt with.

Looking to pickup the turkey gun to add to the collection this winter.

I had the best results with mine with the Federals 275 grain and they were easier to find.

Not anymore Rob . Federal has discontinued that slug in both the 12 and 20ga . Dont know why because I always heard good things about them. They still have them and selling them at 20 percent discount while supplies last direct from Federal

Oh wow.  I sold my 220 cause I was sick of trying to find ammo for it.   Plus I'm in a rifle area.   I started using the Remingtons then could never find them so tried the federals and they had better groups.   I ended up buying a .450 bushmaster and use that as my main deer rifle now.

I have the Savage 220. I have been using Hornady SST sabots with excellent results, field and range.  They are usually pretty easy to find too.  I'd love to get the Remington Accu-tips for it, but I have not seen any in NY stores for quite a while.

It’s worth mentioning again that the accutips are out in volume. I’ve seen them on shelf in all kinds of places that haven’t had them. Runnings has had them at every store I’ve been to recently. But the mom n pops should have them too. We bought a case for just me and my partner since we use the 2.75. If you are local to Roc we can get some for you for pick up.

@Robhuntandfish i was hoping for the federals too as i'd heard good things but like @SportsmanNH said they were discontinued for some reason, and not sure i want to order them, like them, and eventually not be able to get them anymore.

going to see if i cant get some of the honandy sst to try, aparently GNH sells them and i planned to be there this weekend so might as well look. kind of hit or miss whether the guy at the gun counter is there or not though. hopefully since its a weekend he will be.  eiher way im hoping the local shop i use - will be there next week- might have some accutips. Its not shotgun only here, so if he got em in stock they should still be around..

@phade i have no idea where runnings even is lol googled it and its a good half a day drive for me

I have a good supply of the Hornaday,  so I haven't really looked for the Accutips. I'm glad to hear they are available again, they were great in my 12ga.
