Lawdwaz Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 A friend has asked for my input on an engraved gift idea for his son, a keepsake of sorts. (NOT a high end Parker or Winchester) Specifically a folding knife with some sort of inscription is where he was headed, preferably a couple hundred bucks? He’s open to other ideas but is hot on the knife but has no idea where to start? I suggested a money clip but he has that base covered. Thoughts appreciated
2BuckBizCT Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 My boss a few years ago gave me an engraved buck knife. I never used it, but it looks really nice. I just checked the website and tons of choices https://www.buckknives.com/collections/engravable-knives/
TheHornHunter Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 My dad got me a knife probably ten years ago and it’s one of my most prized possessions. It’s not engraved but it was made by someone local. I can’t even begin to guess how many deer that knife has cut at this point. I switched over to havalons for the ease of blade replacement for a few deer but I went back to this knife pretty quickly… so many memories with it now. Highly recommend it Robhuntandfish, Nomad, E J and 2 others 5

I just checked the website and tons of choices https://www.buckknives.com/collections/engravable-knives/ Bingo……I see many (or all?) are available engraved but the custom version is more appealing. Only issue is 6-8 week lead time as I believe it’s a Christmas gift so hence the standard engraved option may be his huckleberry. Thanks gimp……. 2BuckBizCT 1
Splitear Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 Deadwood does engraving on Case knives. I’ve bought a few collector knives from them and they are good folks to deal with. https://deadwoodknives.com/ Lawdwaz 1

Redneck4Life Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 Nice to see all the father son bonding and gifts left to each other. One that'll last a lifetime is a good ass kicking lol. If they never had that before. After that a knife or gun is second best. The_Real_TCIII and mowin 2
Belo Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 Bought all 3 of my boys folding buck knives. Each has their name engraved on the blade for I think just $10 more. Lawdwaz 1 Take the "Buy and plant stuff and then hunt private land" Challenge!
Otto Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 (edited) I have a Buck knife with my initials on it, still new in the box. I should bless at least one deer with it so I can hand it down someday so it has a little history. Edited November 4, 2024 by Otto Lawdwaz 1

NYRturkeycall Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Definitely an engraved buck 110 or another custom folding knife from a reputable Craftsman. Palma non sine pulvere

If he indeed does hunt turkey.
