Decided since it was so warm and i was off , why not check / sight  in the guns . First photo is at 50 yards -  right is Marlin 30/30 , left is SRH 44 . Second and third is the 44 at 75 yds , i was pretty happy as the red dot covers the entire target at that distance and i haven't shot the super red hawk since last year . Third is the 30/30 at 100 . The few flyers  with the 44 were 100% me ( shot with just wrists supported ) the 30-30 flyers were split reloaded  cases , had 6 . They  are not  loaded hot but are  on the 3rd round  of use . Time  to buy some  new cases. IMG_3621.thumb.jpeg.25dc9335fbf96de6d87b82cfc2ac6c5b.jpegIMG_3622.thumb.jpeg.0451bf0290cc496f5e6e5a1361ad062f.jpegIMG_3624.thumb.jpeg.8caebed5edc054c5ffd8ebefd83bf51b.jpegIMG_3623.thumb.jpeg.0e1e7dc3121d2dcfb2211c3625df440e.jpeg

Pretty solid shooting at 75 yards with a hand cannon.

I'm going to try to check the sights on my Hawken this week, I'm hoping it won't take too much if anything to get it on.

And you're right to take advantage of a beautiful day like today!

i always thought about getting a deer worthy pistol. haven't yet.

been great weather lately for the range and just in time for opening day. I mentored an older woman and got her dialed in with a new rifle. She's getting into hunting late in life. Got a little cold late in the evening but otherwise great outside.

I wait for the cold, windy days to site in.  Numb finger, runny nose, target blowing off.  Fun times, lol.

Well i still need to shoot the muzzleloader yet . I wouldn't mind some colder weather , these warm days are nice but not for hunting .

We hit the range as well.

Savage 220 is on...put for down range to confirm and let my older son shoot the Savage .243. He kept his shots in the vitals and hopefully next stop for that rifle will be the PA opener Nov. 30th. It was a huge change shooting in nice weather....like others have said it's usually a last minute thing this time of year and the weather is always complete crap.

Gotta replicate real life hunting situations!
