JohnPlav Posted November 9 Posted November 9 I’ll go up sketchy old trees in a climber all day long, but when it comes time to clean the gutters my legs get the wobbles. But at least it’s done. Time for a beer! Lawdwaz, NYRturkeycall, cervidchasers and 1 other 4

Wolc123 Posted November 9 Posted November 9 (edited) I just did that also, on the house and barn. Our house roof isn’t that steep and just one story, so i cleaned them all from up on the roof. It didn’t take me too long and I also swept out the chimney from the wood stove while I was up there. Now I got to fill up the side porch next to the stove with wood, so we can start using it. It gets too hot in the house if the morning temperatures are higher than about 35 F, so haven’t needed it yet this year. The side porch holds 1/2 face cord. We go thru about (6) per winter and there is (18) stacked up out in the woodshed. The barn is a pain, with the steep roof and quite high so I got to do it from an extension ladder. I should put some gutter guards on that. Edited November 9 by Wolc123
Jeremy K Posted November 9 Posted November 9 (edited) I bought pvc pipe and a couple 90s ,my shop vac is plenty strong enough to clean gutters from the ground. Edited November 9 by Jeremy K Otto, Doebuck1234, SportsmanNH and 2 others 5

Larry Posted November 10 Posted November 10 I have a ranch but I to clean mine twice. I hate cleaning them.
GreeneHunter Posted November 10 Posted November 10 Get a 20 ft ( or longer , whatever is needed ) section of half inch PVC , put two elbows on one end and a Garden Hose connection on the other end and clean your gutters , never leaving the ground !

I’m going to try that next year on the barn. I’ve got hundreds of feet of 1/2” shd 80 pvc in a pile behind the barn. If anyone in wny wants some, send me a pm. Nomad Posted November 11 Posted November 11 Contact me my guy who I worked with on the FD, does mine for $80 . Goes on the roof scoops them onto five gallon buckets ,dumps those into bags . Then flushes the gutters and downspouts. 30 years of working on and off of ladders , not worth the risk to me any more . GreeneHunter and cervidchasers 2
