Ya it's a day off from opening day of SZ rifle, but I dislike full moons. I'll be out there hopeful to take a buck that I consider worth taking.  Could be a spike or a 10 pt. I don't judge a buck by size, but buy the encounter.

Good luck everyone.

Not a big fan either, hopefully cloudy.Going to stick out like a sore thumb worse than I already do,walking across the field!

Even I don't really care about the full moon on opening day. the amount of guys in the woods overrides and where I will be cameras are finally starting to pop with bucks all over then place.

Good luck and be safe...I may squeeze in a few last bow hunts today/tomorrow depending on the results of my blood work. Phakealooney and Phaleatosis has been going around-symptoms are distractability at work, sadness when not in camouflage and severe depression when around people. Cure: increase your altitude by 15-20', clear nasal passage with deep breaths after buck bomb/Evercalm has been deployed, avoid emails, hopefully make meat!

I've never been a big fan of hunting during the full moon. That said, I shot my biggest buck the morning after a full moon many years ago.  The doe he was following didn't get the full moon memo.

Since part of our property borders state land. We try to take advantage of the extra movement on that side, and it can be an advantage for us. Regardless of moon or wind. Of course dealing with trespassers is always a PITA. But we've gotten used to it.

The full moon for Saturday won't be nearly as bad for deer movement, as the last one was in October. So get to your spots and get one down!!

Another thing I've noticed is the 10 to 2 time period of the day is usually very good during the full moon.

I don’t care much about the moon .

Where I hunt there’s far less hunters around me then back in the day, a guy a half mile that way another a half mile this away. Nobody drives,or walks around either, it’s basically bow season with a gun ,I can’t recall the last time I saw another gun hunter while I was hunting .

I've got Monday and Tuesday off. Regardless of the moon, people will be in the woods getting them moving or making them hole up in cover until someone goes in it. The deer are rutting with bucks pushing doe around too. I'll be out. Full moon, new moon, or partial moon. lol Good luck everyone.

Went out this morning behind the house till 930 and saw 3 bucks a6 a8 and a spike could of killed the 6 and the spike but let them walk the 8 was a nice buck but no shot. I may have to hunt that stand during the gun season but I will have to use my bow or crossbow.

Well, it's not just a full moon, it's a super moon! Last month the full moon phase was something, to say the least. If I remember right that was the ML opener up here. Or at least give/take a day.
