elmer fudge Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 Hello New Yorkers. I am migrating back up to NY this weekend to visit some family. I have a 12 foot kayak with electric motor and I want to bring it up to hunt the Hudson this weekend. I'm going up to Rhinebeck, but the season for geese is closed in that zone. If I stay further south, ducks and geese are open. I found a launch north of constitution marsh, If am am NOT accessing what onx deems to be Constitution marsh, am i legal? Any discharge ordinances I should be worried about? I am aware the river gets rough, that is why I want to tuck into one of the marsh edges on the east side of the RR tracks. There are a few similar looking spots closer to Rhinebeck, but access to launch the Kayak seems to be a problem at all of them. Lastly, why does NY have all these BS Unique areas? Lets call this marsh Unique so that all activities are allowed expect hunting? Seems unconstitutional, much of it is navigable water off the hudson being deemed as a unique area.
