Moog5050 Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 I know some may question the cost of this brand, but I have found it to be a lifetime type product. That said, I had a zipper fail 5-6 years after purchase and they turned the repair around in days at no cost to me including shipping both ways. No complaints. Just letting yall know. 2BuckBizCT, Versatile Hunter, Ncountry and 6 others 9

Chef Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 I really do love their stuff... it keeps me very warm, is very comfortable and to hear this makes me happy I have as much of it as I do Trial153 1
Redneck4Life Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 I'm all about spending money on good product. But hitting 40 and the middle age stretch plus beer drinking wondering what size to get lol. I got wide shoulders but 33 34 waist. Certain larges fit but others don't. I hate to spend money on it but I guess they'll always send a bigger size.
grampy Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 I've never acquired any Sitka stuff. But with customer service like that, it makes it more likely that I may at some point. Redneck4Life 1
Buckmaster7600 Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 I’m tough on hunting clothes and own a little from the big 3, Sitka first lite and kuiu. I’ve had to use all of their customer service for warranty stuff and have nothing but good things to say about all of them. They all make good stuff and they’re all worth the money. I just wish someone would make a decent pair of pants that fit my needs!
2BuckBizCT Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Same experience re Sitka and KUIU. Being warm allows me to sit super still.
Trial153 Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 I have good relationship with sitka, they helped me out on a couple conservation fundraisers, went above and beyond. I also enjoyed my visit to their HQ in Montana, it was fantastic putting faces to contacts I have made there. The few times I have had use their CS they were fantastic. I have more of their gear then i like admit and it’s all high quality and well thought out You could leave life right now. Let that determine what you do and say and think.”Marcus Aurelius. 2BuckBizCT Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Off topic, but related. The Jerry Hairston suicide story (founder of Sitka and KUIU) is sad but interesting read.

I have a failed zipper too. I should send it in? Whats the process? lol As for Sitka, for a NYS Whitetail hunter, I dont think any Sitka is worth it other than the extreme cold weather lineups for long cold weather sits, They are GREAT at cutting wind. I see no reason (other than the logo) why someone would spend that much on warm/cool weather clothing. I bowhunt in thin Walmart Wrangler khakis and a bottomland hoodie until it gets cold out. lol. I do have a couple Sitka outfits. The Fanatic and Traverse. And in all honesty I wish i never bought the Traverse bibs and Jacket. It may actually go up for sale. And ill buy a couple more bottomland hoodies and some pants lol. I get 50% off my purchases. And I still wont buy a warm season set, Maybe if I went out west, but not for NY Whitetail. Probably another Cold weather outfit will be purchased at some point

They then send a fed shopping label. LET EM GROW 1

I spend most of my season wearing Edie Bauer mountain pants, I think they’re 40$ and are durable without being loud and a fleece checkered shirt maybe a merino base layer. The Walmart wrangler pants make an awful swoosh sound like wind pants when walking. I rarely ever sit so the warmest clothes by Sitka or any company for that matter do nothing for me. I really like Sitkas down “puffy” layers. I often carry the puffy pants and coat in my Fanny pack when I’m still hunting and if I come to a spot that I want to sit for a couple hours I throw them on and can sit comfortably without having to pack in a backpack full of clothes or be sweating when I’m walking. grampy and LET EM GROW 1 1
