Was given two ML..

The good.  CVA optima no scope, and a TC omega with a 3x9x40 TC scope. 

The bad.. they have been shot and never cleaned.  I can open the CVA, but not the TC.  Looking like I've got scope, rings and stocks.  Looks like the rest is scrap.

How's the cva barrel? It's gotta be pretty bad to be useless.

Haven't tried to remove the plug. Going to spray some WD 40 down the muzzle and let it soak a few days. If it looks like the plug end, or the muzzle, it's not good.

Is that due to the corrosiveness of the powder?  Do all of the powders do that? I've never owned a ML.

Ya, black powder and black powder supplements are highly corrosive.  Buckhorn 209 is about the cleanest burning you can get before going to a smokless powder ML.

That sucks. It’s all but impossible to salvage a sewer pipe barrel. You can probably find some barrels and be money ahead since they were given to you.

First , who would do that? Second ,  wd40 wont do much if anything . If you wanted to put forth the effort , i would do a 50/50 mix of acetone and dex/ mercon transmission fluid. Plug off the primmer hole stand em up and fill the barrels, plug the business  end and let them sit for a week . 50 mix

Would you sell the Omega stock ?  I’m not sure if the current Gorilla glue repair on mine will stand up another soaker of a Holiday season.
