I have a chance to purchase a Unfired TC encore, composite stock in .50cal  black powder.  This is one of the original encores.  I can get it for $500.

I'm tempted.

Man I love when people  are hurting for money. Not to take advantage but I'll buy any gun someone wants to sell

You have my vote.

Not hurting for money.  Friend of a outdoorsman that passed this spring.  Widow is ready to sell, but knows her stuff as far as gun values.  Good friend of mine and the gentleman that passed, bought all the TC contender stuff.  Dozens of barrels and a few frames.  Lots of inventory left.

The frame is worth that.

Mowin  I own 2 Encores that I bought over 20 years ago . One is the same as you are describing with a Camo stock and the other has a black synthetic stock. Both Are Tack Drivers !  I paid $575 for the black synthetic and $650 for the camo .I have the camo one set up to shoot 295gr powerbelt hollow points and the black one to shoot 245gr powerbelt hollow points or the Hornady 240gr XTP's.  They have both shot tight groups with ever projectile I have tried in them .  I would never sell mine used even if offered twice as much as they are offering you the new one . Here is the only one one GunBroker that was just listed for auction starting at $850 .  And this Encore is only in fair condition !

How to tell If yours is one of the originals and unfired  , look at the primer holder . The originals had a stationary primer holder. It did not swivel to the right in order to take out the breech plug to clean the barrel . So you had to take the barrel off  remove the primer holder to get the breech plug out . Later on they came up with a primer holder that would swivel to the right the let you get the plug out without taking it apart .  I bought those extra and put them on mine . Very hard to find those now . Hopefully the new TC company will make them again . You are NUTS if you dont buy that new unfired Encore for that price !!!!   Buy it before its gone !!!

I'm sure you already know  that Encores have to go through an FFL for transfer because they can change barrels to a center fire rifle .  Doesn't matter that it has a muzzy barrel on it now
