Was playing around with a crossbow and shot some bolts in a target that clearly is not meant for bolts since they are locked in there. Already destroyed one bolt using some pliers!

First, any recommendations for removal? I am looking to order something called easy arrow-out tool and hopeful that will work. https://www.easyarrowout.com/

Second, I don't understand the science behind how  a XBow bolt and an arrow from a compound bow are so diffent that it makes them need a target specific to bolts.

I think with the speed and certain target materials, the friction will actually melt the material and then when it cools it basically locks your bolt in place.    You can try to twist the shift to break the seal before pulling.  A lot easier said than done.

Bolt/Arrow pullers help a lot.

This is one design I've never seen before but looks like it would give you a lot more leverage, reviews seem good.

Have you tried asking your wife to pull the bolt out for you?

Kidding, I have no useful information for you.... Obviously

Hahah...I absolutely thought it was just me being soft but when chef or Bizzy couldn't make it budge I knew something was up

not to send this off the deep end but a little lube would've gone a long way.

you can buy thin rubber grip pad things cheap at walmart and other stores for opening jars. also the grippy matting you put in the bottom of tool box drawers also works.

I thought about mentioning lube too, but the downside is the crossbow and lube build up on the rail.  For arrows (with a dropaway) a cheap lube that works well is simply ivory bar soap (or probably any soap).

yea that's not something i worry about. with my at home bow shop i already have acetone and breakfree powder blast on hand to clean things like that. his issue is likely the foam the target is made of.

Is it just me that finds those little rubber grip things for open cans are hard to find in recent years?

As somebody who has gone the nuclear option mentioned above as a joke - I can only second biz's advise about the yellow jackets ive since switched to using lol

Having tried to pull these bolts that target is some heavy duty shit... I'm shocked even arrows with broadheads seem like they would be a challenge
