Stubborn1vt Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 Anybody own one of these? I am half-heartedly looking for a shorter, lighter turkey gun with sights. I currently tote a 12 gauge 870, and have no complaints other than the length and weight. Love it? Hate it? Other than it being Chinese made, I don't see many drawbacks for the price. I'm not sure I love the thumbhole style stock, but otherwise it has lots of features that I'm looking for. TIA. Pic of my current turkey slayer with DIY custom paint job. Mattypotpie8s and Caeden4 2
mowin Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 Check out the Mossberg 500. I've got one in 20g. Nice and lite and tosses great patterns with 3" TSS.
Stubborn1vt Posted December 18, 2024 Author Posted December 18, 2024 If I ever win Powerball, I'll switch to TSS. mowin and Robhuntandfish 2
Robhuntandfish Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 I have the savage 320 field grade pump. I bought it to try for duck hunting and didn't want to spend much cause didn't know how much I would go . We didn't go for 2 years then finally got out. It worked ok as we got ducks but had an awful time getting a second shot off. Enough that I went out and bought a semi cause it was so frustrating. And I really loved duck hunting so plan to be out a lot and really need a second shot. That being said I am sure it would be good enough for Turkey as you don't often get a second shot. They have them on sale at Bass pro for like $200. They aren't great but would get the job done I am sure. Caeden4 Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 my turkey shotgun is the only gun i own now that is NOT a savage. also not a pump anymore though and doesnt have the adjustable fiber optic sights so probably not what youre looking for i guess. cant speak to the turkey model but i had the same one rob mentioned above and switched to a stoeger m3020 two years ago i think? it was more expensive, but worth it in my opinion. as much as i love my savage rifles, i really think the stoeger is my favorite. almost 2lbs lighter too Stubborn1vt and Robhuntandfish 2
