Just looked thru some pics the other day and thought it was interesting to see how this spot has changed.  We are always improving our spot and really enjoy seeing the results as much as the hunting itself.

I like that evolution.  I’ll throw a couple up that did the trick for me this year.   Foodplots definitely work and are infinitely more fun than raising crops for beef cattle.  I’ve been there and done that and can certainly attest to it.  Fun trumps work every time:

#1 (1/4 acre turnip plot at parents place):

#2 (1/4 acre awp/wheat/clover plot at home)

Looks great, Rob.  My first guess is this is Littlefield, my second is CCS?

The process can be very gratifying.  I started my biggest plot with a walk-behind, rear tine tiller.  Along the way I learned about clay, flooding, drought, germination, all the pitfalls to planting corn, brassica usage, plot "structure", and so much more.  It went from a 10 yard x 45 yard strip, to just about an acre.

It has been particularly enjoyable to turn a small clearing in the woods into a small plot that deer regularly use.  I have taken out trees, burned, worked up soil, limed, dragged, raked, planted, mowed, taken out more trees, chipped, ground stumps, expanded, frost seeded, fertilized, and watched it grow.

I was watching a fawn, spike and racked buck in my big plot 2 evenings ago.  I enjoy seeing them, the planning, and even a couple harvests.  Good stuff.

Lol, yes it is Littlefield. Most of them evolved about the same there though.  You def learn a lot and mistakes are often the best way to learn.
