Larry Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Think about this with all the talk about getting rid of Daylight Savings time. How it would effect shooting times and travel to your spot. Where I live on May 1st sunrise would be 504 instead of 604. With shooting time would be around 435. That would mean for me to travel to my spot in the southern tier I would have to get up at 130. Just wondering what you all think.
Keith Nehrke Posted January 1 Posted January 1 IMHO, having Daylight Savings run all year is a far preferable alternative. This has been floated for a long time, and the push to due away with it entirely seems new to me. But I agree that it would be problematic for morning activities. Big Paul, mowin and Trial153 2 1

I want the extra hr of light at the end of the day, especially in the summer. cervidchasers 1
Robhuntandfish Posted January 1 Posted January 1 The earlier it gets light for me the better. I'm up anyway. Rob-c and G-man 2 "it's pointless for humans to paint scenes of nature when they can go outside and stand in it"- Ron Swanson

Nomad Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Sun comes up and goes down at the same time no matter what your watch says . When we “ fall back “ during deer season , I’m still getting up at the same time , same as the deer . grampy, RocNy Sporter, dbHunterNY and 1 other 4

What about school kids in places like Alaska where it’s dark six months and light six months? Ending DS isn’t going to matter if you live way north like that. Big Paul Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Daylight savings is used almost eight months out of the year. I would like to see November-February added to that. It would be nice to get home from work and have daylight. mowin 1

That didn't matter when I worked I'm retired. But I worked nights in the winter I would go in when it's dark and come home in the dark. Edited January 2 by Larry Fucking auto correct
