First catch of 2025

It’s not what I was hoping for but that’s the way it goes sometimes. First time I ever caught a fox by both front paws.

I was surprised by this female this morning. I intentionally set the trap without gloves on hoping that I might leave some scent around and that the trap wouldn’t get dug up. I covered up my remaining 4 traps due to the snow and freezing rain that is forecasted for tonight and tomorrow.

.22 short in the ear. They drop like a rock.

Never wore a pair of trapping gloves my entire life trapping ,they know you’re there regardless,they are k9s and can smell .

Agreed that it’s impossible not to leave human scent behind. But if I’m targeting canines I try to minimize it.
