Phantom Posted January 8 Posted January 8 My cousin got me thinking about this. He wants to buy a small parcel of land backed by state land or something similar, but he doesn’t want to spend much money. How little do you think he can get away with and still have some good hunting land?

I know he doesn't want to spend more than like 40 to 60k I mean he'd like to get away with 10K if that's possible I don't think that's possible though anymore for land around here in New York state . Point being he doesn't want to spend much money on it.

Some areas you might get 2-5 acres, others $60k isn't going to by the land the mailbox is on. Phantom and cervidchasers 1 1

Like Central New York Finger Lakes Region Chenango County around there or Catskills he said he like to buy if its good . Yeah but some of those postage stamps wind up being the best places sometimes.

Here's a head start below- took me 19 seconds. There's 81 properties in NY for sale that are between $5K and $60K and over 10 acres. I sorted it by acreage highest to lowest. That's going to be harder to find. Belo 1

Actually I just had a thought should ask my friend down in Georgia he's in a real estate business he may know some other tricks to find deals out there . But the thing is he wants it to border state land so basically he can hunt the whole mountain behind his lot.
Buckmaster7600 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Buildable lots near state land are hard to come by in my neck of the woods. They’re either steep or expensive. I lucked out on mine, right place, right time and had cash. I’d be surprised if it’s cheaper south of here. DoubleDose and Phantom 1 1
IM Hooked Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Probably around 2k to 3k acre in central NY depending on how much is wooded. Usually smaller parcels are more per acre. Phantom 1
Bolt Action Posted January 9 Posted January 9 There might be some opportunity up north where the per acre price is reasonable. I'm thinking north of Watertown. Malone, governeur area.. I know there are plenty of Amish up that way, and not sure on deer density.. but if he's price driven, it might be worth a look.

I’m sure there’s an easy way to have AI search whatever parameters you want
