Anybody have them on their property either naturally or planted?

Was reading that the turkeys really love them, plus pretty good for us humans too.

I have one mulberry tree in my fenced in dog area. Squirrels risk death by dog daily until every berry is gone. Make sure you protect them from squirrels.

My MIL has a couple across the street from her.  Often times someone has to park there.  When they are dropping berries, I won't park there, lol.

I've tried em. Not very sweet. But as mentioned.  Squirrel magnet.

I’m good with attracting bushy tails too.

From what I’ve read it seems they’re pretty abundant producers and hard for a single animal to really crush them too hard?

Yes i usually get tons of berries but the squirrel know its a free meal so they never fully mature. I wish i had more mulberry trees instead of the plum trees i planted that are a pain in the butt.

We have a Mulberry tree and the Groundhogs climb it and gorge themselves on the berries.

Groundhogs a actually very good climbers.  I was a kid when our dog had one in his sights.  Only thing that saved that hog was a big maple tree.

We've been planting multiple varieties of mulberries from White Oak Nurseries in Canandaigua, as well (if memory serves) from Meadowview Nursery in Naples and Twisted Tree Farm in Ithaca. Many of them are >7 years old now, and they grow like weeds. Word to the wise - bucks LOVE to rub them, so keep them caged or wrapped, even once they're out of a tube.

They are the first fruit of the year for us. Warm day, mulberries in the sun...doesn't get much better. Don't plant anywhere you don't want a mess, though.

They are considered a weed tree as they can grow anywhere and are incredibly hard to kill. The birds eat the berries and spread the seeds. I’ve even seen them growing in the cracks of a sidewalk.
I did have one in my front yard years ago. Once the berries started to drop, the deer where under it all day long for about 3 weeks until they dried up.

Bought a whole bunch of white and swamp oaks from white oak nurseries last year. He wouldn't sell me as many as I wanted haha. I have some persimmons on the way from twisted tree, but right now they say out of stock for mulberries.
