Looks like they're roughly 10 times the cost for plastic and 20 times the cost for aluminum, and they state they are meant to last a few years (which seems odd, as I feel like I've seen aluminum signs last for like 20+ years):

They are waterproof labels, but need to printed on a lazer printer. They have been out for 6 months and still look brand new.  I soaked them in water and were fine…. I guess time will tell.  

I'm confused, how are you using them exactly?  The specs say they are BLANK 2.625" x 1" WATERPROOF ADDRESS LABELS.  That's not very big.

In NY I don't believe the name and address has to be a certain size.  Assuming he's printing his name and address on them and sticking them on.
