Anyone watching Mecum auto auctions?

I'm always amazed at some of the prices and the amount of money flowing through that place.

Lots of incredible cars and trucks crossing the block.

Mecum is actually a pretty realistic and decent barometer for collector car value of the auctions. If you want to be really amazed, watch Barrett-Jackson auction.  I watched the Hemi Mopars at Mecum sell for about $~500k each.  I think those cars at B-J would have fetched $1M each. B-J  auctions get the buyers where the bidding is just as much about ego and wallets, not the car.

Some years ago, there was a buyer (for a media mogul, so not his $) in a bidding war with someone for a rare one of one car.  The bidding got to about $1M and the someone basically said something like I'm done or I'm out.  The mogul's buyer than said to him something like Is that all you got?. The someone then jumped back in to the bidding and ran the car up to $3M, before conceding the car to the mogul's buyer.  When the gavel hammered the sale, the someone went up to the mogul's buyer and said something like, How does it feel to pay $2M more because of your big mouth?.  This all got back to the mogul who then fired the buyer.

I saw 2 hemis go for like $750k each. Superbee I think? Both had large rear wings. Crazy money.
