mowin Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 Is there a rifle you would really like to aquire? Wether it's something your father/grandfather had or always talked about or something that just trips your trigger. Mines a M1 garand because my dad carried one in WWII. Bucksnbows 1
Nontypical Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 I’d like a Remington 700 in 6.8SPC. I wish I would’ve picked one up a few years ago when I had the chance.
Farflung Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 I really like the looks of the all Stainless Marlin in 45-70 with the `18.5 inch barrel, but I just can't find a use for it unless I go to somewhere that them grizzled bears live.
Robhuntandfish Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Just bought it two weeks ago. Ruger .450 bushmaster. Perfect swamp rifle for where I hunt. mowin Posted January 14, 2023 Author Posted January 14, 2023 I'd also like a CVA scout in 45-70 to convert into a smokeless ML. sbuff 1
Splitear Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 One of these days I’m going to find a good deal on an SA-22 and grab it.
nywaw Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Only one I really have my mind on, it's the one I took my first deer with. Was my dad's friend's Hawken Kit .50 Muzzleloader he let me borrow as my dad only had one ML at the time. His friend passed away long ago and I could never track it down. Are you partial to that specific gun, or a Hawken in general? I can keep an eye out for you if your looking for a TC Hawken, a nice one sold at our local auction a couple of months ago for $150. I came in right as it sold, or I would have bid on it.

Just that gun I'm looking for. I have my dad's Hawken now, I should take it on a hunt one day! TimberGhost, mowin, Robhuntandfish and 2 others 1 4
DirtTime Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 In my late 20's I had a Remington 700 BDL in 30/06. I would love to have that back or one like it from before Remington quality went south. If we're talking brandy new, a Browning XBolt in either .270 Win or 7MM Remington Mag. These would all have to be wood stocks! I look in the safe and see nothing but black and gray, it needs some tradition! Ogee and mowin 2
mowin Posted January 14, 2023 Author Posted January 14, 2023 I've always wanted to take a deer with a BP pistol. I had a TC pistol in 7-30 waters that would take additional barrels. I took a couple deer with the pistol before selling it because I needed money. Taking a deer with a BP would be the ultimate in my mind. DirtTime and Splitear 2
SportsmanNH Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 If I was looking for another rifle I would want to find a Ruger 44mag carbine semi auto in mint shape like this one thats on Gunbroker . Two of the guys at camp use them now and then . Always liked how they looked and handled . They are very light , powerful , and fast shooting with hardly any recoil . But right now I have 3 firearms that I have never fired already. Plus this one is a bit overpriced . https://www.gunbroker.com/item/963150988

We eliminated lots of beer cans and other targets with that gun. Lots of fun.
