So we decided to update the house from the mid 90s red oak flooring and stairways.   Talked to our flooring guy and he highly recommend LVT (they really are planks) over refinishing hardwoods.  Has a look of hardwoods, textured but waterproof and a breeze to maintain.  Also a bit softer to walk on and very scratch resistant unlike hardwoods.    After doing our main living area, we liked it so much, we had them do the rest of the house.   Frankly, if you are handy and have the time, it’s not a hard install.  We were doing too many square feet to tackle it myself.  Highly recommended!  I have a feeling this flooring will outlast me

That looks great guys.  I had the foundation redone on my house and the whole subfloor and sill in the dining nook. Hoping in the spring to redo the flooring in the there and the kitchen.

Looks fantastic. We went with LVP also. Installed it in mid '19. It's held up extremely well with 3 large dogs.

About ten years ago, we used hand-scraped walnut to finish most of the downstairs, and while it looked (and still looks) great, I wish after this latest dog that we'd gone LVP. He doesn't do anything at half-speed. Four years of tearing around the place has scratched it up pretty good.
