Biz is Back

Hey everyone. Was busy with hunting, holidays, and work. Hoping this forum takes off and offers t-shirts for sale! I'll try to do a quick summary and keep it short since I left the other dead forum in early November. 

November 8th in CT bowhunting - I had a black bear come out in front of me under 15 yards several times. I yelled at him several times. It would run away and kept coming back. Can't shoot them in CT and really frustrating since the population is out of control. I took a bunch of videos and attached a screenshot. After he finally left me alone, he walked in front of the cell cam (pic also attached). 

November 12th in 3R (Rockland County) bowhunting - I got the exclusive invite to hunt with @Chef  for the PM. He walked me into my spot around noon. I saw a doe with 2 fawns just before 2pm (under 15 yards) and a lone spike just before 3pm (25 yards). At 3:15pm, I had a wide broken 6pt come in and make a scrape. I was at full draw for a full few minutes as the vitals were blocked. Finally I just leaned as far as I could to get my single pin in the vitals and let it rip. I guessed 25yds, but it was actually a 27yd. shot. I thought I saw him go down in sight, but we followed the blood for fun anyway. He went 60yds and was 15 6/8" inside spread. Huge thanks to Chef for the opportunity- my only regret is not taking pic of both of us with the buck. After I gutted it, we saw a beautiful 10pt pushing a doe. Deeraged at 3.5 years old

November 17-20 - I headed to WNY for my 4th time in 5 years to hunt with @The_Real_TCIII and @Sodfather. With no buck tag, we drank a bunch on thursday night and friday during the day. Saturday we saw a bunch of deer and I watched Tacks shoot a doe through my binocs. With the crazy snow I headed home sunday instead of monday. the ride on 86/17 was absolutely brutal for about a full hour. I lost count after 40 accidents/slide-offs. I made home fine to hunt the following day.

November 21 - It was a frigid morning in 3N (Putnam County) with shotgun. I saw a 4pt at 7am, then spike, then doe/fawns. But I also saw a beautiful 8pt mount a doe. I have never seen this live before. At first I thought the buck was hunched and hurt until i saw the doe under him. After mounting her around 910am, he chased her around through thick stuff and never offering a shot. I took a cool video of him chasing her. I had planned to head home to hunt CT that afternoon, but after seeing all this action I decided to stay till dark without lunch. Just after 3pm I caught a glimpse of this same 8pt feeding on browse with the doe by his side. They were 125yds away and no opening to shoot. I slowly stalked stepping on rock to rock to avoid the crunch of leaves. When I got to 85yds I had an opening but no rest. I shot offhand and he went down in sight after running 30 yards. I shot him through the heart. He was 16 6/8" inside spread. Deeraged at 4.5 years old.

November 23 - My Dad shot a 6pt with the shotgun at 730am in 3N (putnam county). Deeraged at 3.5 years old

All in all, it was a wacky season with zero acorns and limited buck sightings, but my Dad and I shot 3 good bucks so tough to complain. He had a chance at a different 8pt with crossbow but the string snapped. I didn't shoot a CT buck but had 2 nice ones on cam I hope made it through the year.

Welcome back Biz.  Congrats on the bucks!  Taking after Larry?  I don't care about football much, but I imagine you're here to crow about the Chiefs.  The Sox?  Not so much...  Sucks about the bears.  Seems like they could use some shooting.  Looks like you had a heck of a season.  Congrats to your old man as well.

I'm michigan football fan too, so that TCU game hurt. Go Chiefs, should beat the Jags hopefully. and Yea, Story is out so Sox are screwed again.

It uploads clear, but then once you go to crop it....it gets weird.
