mowin Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 Ok, if you travel a lot.. we don't, this is probably going to seem easy. My stepbrat has made the nationals in powerlifting. She holds the NY state deadlift record in her weight class of 525lbs. Nationals are in Memphis Tennessee in Sept, which happens to be the state my wife and I are thinking about retiring too in a couple years. We're looking to move into the Johnson city area, or the northeast area of Tennessee. We want to check out the area we're interested in moving to before the competition. Which airport would be the best to fly into? Don't want to fly into Memphis and have to drive 5 hrs to to Johnson city, only 5 hrs drive back to Memphis. We would like to fly out of Albany NY. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
ZAG Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 Whats the closest airport to Bristol? Were taking a long weekend in April to recon the entire eastern portion of Tennessee and western portion of NC. Smokey mountains are calling me. We wanna start looking for a 2nd home and or land to eventually build. Ideally being an hr from Knoxville would be fantastic.

Moog5050 Posted January 22, 2023 Posted January 22, 2023 Great deadlift. I remember when a 165lb female first broke 500. It was a big deal. She was a national champ. Your daughter is really good. mowin 1
The_Real_TCIII Posted January 22, 2023 Posted January 22, 2023 Nashville is in between and probably your cheapest flight option
The_Real_TCIII Posted January 22, 2023 Posted January 22, 2023 Your talking about the longest possible distance across Tennessee so youre going to have a long drive at least once mowin 1

mowin Posted January 22, 2023 Author Posted January 22, 2023 (edited) We're thinking about flying into NC then driving to Johnson City. Its approximately 7.5 hr drive from there to Nashville, so we might drive into Georgia to see good friends of ours, then flying out of Atlanta to Nashville. Edited January 22, 2023 by mowin

I'd like to avoid driving from Nashville to Johnson city, only to drive back past Nashville to get to Memphis. Hoping to get things mapped out in the next few weeks so we can get things booked early.
