NYRturkeycall
Anyone paint their stands? Thinking in the off season (but not May lol) of painting my climber an ASAT camo with black earth brown and khaki. Figure it's a base of flat black primer, then painter's tape in ASAT pattern with brown paint, then second round of ASAT pattern using painters tape with khaki paint. Was also toying with picking up an ASAT leaf suit and calling buying new camo a day. I think ASAT does best to break outlines up from an animal's perspective, especially when against a thinner tree with not so much cover/foliage around. Thoughts and pictures of your paint jobs if you got em? Palma non sine pulvere
ZAG
I’d use, black, brown, green (I like ur khaki) and grey to resemble the color of bark! Gl Bucksnbows

Thoughts and pictures of your paint jobs if you got em? I did a couple ladder stands last summer in rustoleum Camo paint. 3 cans in different colors. Found it at local hardware store. I just sprayed first coat dark brown. After that dried I added the tan color and then green after the tan dried. Can’t find pics on my phone. If I make it out this week for a walk I’ll take pics and post them. NYRturkeycall
crappyice
We used some camo spray paint on light grey ladderstands and we're happy with the results. Sorry that I don't have pictures. NYRturkeycall

The Back 40
I have painted a few stands with rustoleum camo, It may be easier to make a stencil of the ASAT pattern rather than trying to tape it. Paint your base color, Then use the stencil to overlay your pattern. I prefer to use a leafy pattern. I lay down the leaf color first, Then grab a branch with good leaves, lay it down and spray a darker color over it. you are using the negative space. To be honest I don't think the deer really care which pattern you use. anything that breaks up the outline will work, even random lines. dbHunterNY
i did my Summit Open Shot Climber years ago. I'll have to take a photo. Used limbs and leaves with i think a few different colors for spray cans. each a layer. i'll take a picture when I get home if I remember.
Farflung
I usually use a grey background with dark grey and black trunk and branches. Sometimes I use ferns sort of like a stencil. Generally like the grey as usually the fall sky is a dour grey.
Bucksnbows
Remember, fancy camo paint is for hunters, breaking up the stand's outline is for the deer. None of the patterns matter to break up the outline. I use 4 colors myself, black, brown, green, and gray with green and brown being more dominant typically.
