Water Rat Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 70 to 100 mph winds and 40' drifts. I can't imagine that much snow and the hardships and deaths it caused. Bionic, mowin and Dr Juice 1 2
mowin Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 (edited) Ya, that had to be a bitch to shovel. Edited January 26, 2023 by mowin Dogman 1
Dr Juice Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 Unbelievable. And we have a climate problem now? …. I don’t think so!
Robhuntandfish Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 (edited) I remember my Dad talking about the blizzard of '66 where the roads were closed and he had to go out a window at the house to get out. Then he cleared out his place a bit and walked down to his buddies bar in the middle of the road that was completely snowed in, and found him stuck in the house then dug his door out. We have much better snow removal systems these days for sure so big snow events arent generally as crippling. But all you have to do is look at Buffalo's blizzard this year to show us that nature can overtake all that still. Dad didn't keep it there long, didn't want it to collapse on someone. I remember being so pissed at him for taking it down.
