blackbeltbill
Water Rat- I was just talking to Cynthia today about that same thing. Back from around 1997 to around 2014,I was banging out a good 4 ,5, sometimes 6 Turkeys in a Season between 3 States and Spring + Fall. Since the population Decline- it is maybe 2 a year now. Hoping for a better Spring this year. Take The Multiple Use Area Challenge.
mowin
I'm glad I don't live where you do. No population decline here. Couple decent springs has definitely helped. Typical to see flocks of 15 to 30 birds this time of year.

The Turkey Population is Strong in Orange County- but nothing like it was back before 2015 or so. Now 20 miles South of me in New Jersey in both Sussex and Passaic Counties where,I hunt the North New Jersey Mts- it is a Turkey Ghost Town . Mid to South Jersey has Tremendous numbers of Birds. 20 years back- Sussex County had the Tremendous numbers. Hoping for a New Jersey Turnaround Spring this late April. Dr Juice
I concur. There were definitely more birds around back then. Do we have a predator or disease problem? Your guess is good as mine. Nice pics and I’m sure they bring back great memories when looked at.
