There seemed to be a lot more turkeys around back then.

I'm glad I don't live where you do.  No population decline here.  Couple decent springs has definitely helped.  Typical to see flocks of 15 to 30 birds this time of year.

We don’t have the turkeys we had in the late 90’s but still more than enough around.

I concur. There were definitely more birds around back then. Do we have a predator or disease problem? Your guess is good as mine. 
 

Nice pics and I’m sure they bring back great memories when looked at.
