He's getting close to starting his first batch of bourbon.  Place is impressive. Town is making him have 50,000 gals of water on hand for fire suppression. There is five 10,000 gal tanks in sequence with a 40hp pump hooked to the sprinkler system.  He put in a 100,000 kw generator to power the place if the power goes out.

 From sheep farm to this...

Nice work. I would have thought he would have epoxy paint the floors the concrete looks dusty.   Also I think you added a few too many zeros to the KW.

No added zeros.  It's  100,000 unit.

Is the water stored inside?

Yes, the fire suppression system is inside the distillery in it's own room that is insulated and heated.  Pic with the red piping and pump. You can see part of two tanks in the pic.

Left to right: cherry bounce, lemonade, peach brandy, and raspberry bounce. He doesn’t make it. West Virginia shine. He just gets it. Let’s just say he’s 8th generation Virginian and may have had family in that business. :)

50,000 gallons in it's own room is amazing!

It's literally a building inside a much bigger building.

hell of a place. for the longest time I never realized the transfer switch had to be specific model from the fire pump's UL listing. not every firepump sized accordingly actually meets code. likes like it's all coming together nice. clean work.

Are those bourbon flavours? If so, this amber spirit drinker is going to weep.

A buddy opened up a gin distillery in the Catskills. Good stuff.

He's going through the move to a larger distillery right now, but don't think he's had to jump through the same hoops

Lot of the issues is my client is starting from scratch, and every county has different rules and laws.
