I have to vent as this still really really bothers me. This is a buck that I have been after for 3 years. Mind you this is the first time he has daylighted. So the Monday of gun opener week I shoot my buck. The next morning Tuesday I'm butchering my buck and I start to get pic. notifications from my tactacam. I decide to take a break from butchering and look at the pics., and there he is in daylight tending a doe for 5 minutes 50 yards from my  treestand, same stand I was in the day prior. A day has not gone by that I think of my screw up!!!! Oh well. My neighbor is after him as well and said he had pics of him a week later. Hopefully he made it. He's a monarch, cant even begin to guess on an age. His body dwarfs any other deer buck or doe in the area and i have documented about 10k pics since Oct. 22.

A true monarch of the woods!! Gosh darn what a buck!!

No sense second guessing yourself after the fact though!! Dedicate this year to making this season his last! I know you can do it!

I once dedicated my whole season to only taking one of two big 9 points.  (One on each property I hunted).  And I didn't regret it even though I didn't get them.   I did fill the freezer with early does which is paramount, but passed everything except those two bucks.  Got to within 50 yards of one with crossbow but didn't get a shot.  Still was awesome to try.  With a buck like the one here I would def be all about him. (As long as the freezer gets filled too).

Two seasons ago I dedicated my season to a specific buck. Let a few walk, that I would have easily shot. Came so darned close a couple times. But just didn't get the shot I needed. It was one of the best seasons I've had in a long, long time! Not one regret!

My hunting partner killed him this past season. We had a great celabration!!

That buck doesn't deserve to go out because of a cell cam. ... Ghost of the woods. Would you know he existed without cams?

If I didn't kill my gun buck, I would have seen him . But even cell cams don't guarantee anything. Besides what's the difference,

I hunted for many decades without a camera. Never had a problem seeing, or killing nice bucks. Are you saying anyone that uses a trail cam, is not ethical? Or up to YOUR standards? Nothing illegal about trail cams. So hunt how you want. And others will too. No need to judge others based on how YOU hunt,
