    This was a fun hunt! Our 2nd daughter was born in late October of 2021, which meant that my hunting days were few and far between. My wnd trip out, I was set up overlooking a swampy area on a longhorn farm that I hunt. I really didn't know what ot expect, but at about 9am this guy walked through. A 70 yard shot dropped him in his tracks. The worst part about it was having to drag him out of the swamp. Not a big buck by any measure, but one that I was glad to have an opportunity at. 

    I was hunting with an old Remington 760 in 300 Savage that was given to me by a family friend. He told me the only thing he wanted for it was a picture of the deer I killed with it. I was happy to make payment in full to that old man.
