The small bluefish are good you have to eat them fresh never freeze them. Same with striper smaller ones are better and we usually marinate them first.

This was probably my last day of stream fishing for the spring.  Water is low and clear. Trout are pretty dark, and far between. 

He's going to be great on the smoker.

Made it out for a couple hours to the Bashakill today. Pretty sure everyone else in the county had the same idea as the water was packed. A couple pickerel and a brand new reel going bad was what i ended up with.

Just was fishing out of the pond today caught my first fish on the fly rod. He was about 4 inches!

Took the day off to get some work done and relax before walleye weekend. Stopped over at a local spot this morning for a bit to spruce up my jigging skills. Got about 10 craps and a handful of perch.

Running to RPI tomorrow for some playoff baseball. Any recommendations/stream report for flyfishing  the Esopus? Haven't been there in years!!

Was out fishing in the neighbors pond had a great time there bass with the biggest being 18 1/4 inches and one pike that I didn't get a picture of but was around 20-24 inches.

Anywhere should be good. Find some faster water and look for the slow seams in that. Beadhead nymphs work great,i usually run a double nymph rig and short line nymph.

Those are my favorite fish to eat (Smallmouth are my second favorite to eat but my favorite to catch because they fight twice as hard pound per pound.) My wife made St. Lawrence River largemouth for dinner last week.  Just a few packs left in the freezer.  June 15 can’t get here fast enough.
