Pumpkins in a food plot?

we have a 1..5 acre pumpkin patch at the farm, right out in front of the my parents house. it's fenced in with a high solar electric fence. it wouldn't provide a lot of sustained tonage but deer seem to like browsing on it. during growing as @crappyice said. not sure his loss but half the pumpkin patch was eaten for the pumpkins (and gourds) during growing and once they matured and turned orange. what remains was just disked up and cereal grains and buck wheat will be planted. then that's disked under in the spring. back when it was way out back, I can tell you moose enjoyed them all the same.
