Chestnut Tree Seedlings - ok to plant now?

My cousin gave me 5 chestnut trees in small 8” pots.  They are about a foot tall.  Are they ok to plant now, or should I keep them from freezing over the winter and plant in the spring?

fall is one of the best times to plant them ,mulch them in good ,cage them and watch them grow.

Plant  now but fence  off  best way for roots to be protected over winter and be ready for spring.

Just remember chestnut like dry feet moist but dry and  love full  sun and acidic soil.

Plant in months that end in “r” and you will find your best success. So yes.
