Bucksnbows
I used two Tupperware knockoff tubs partially filled with moistened peat moss to cold stratify 50 native persimmon seeds. Easy and greatly increases sprouting success for most tree species. These got another light layer of peat moss once stuck in the initial layer and some more water. Into the basement (spare) fridge they went. I will check them at 30 days and again every 7-10 days after and pull any that sprout and place them in pots with dirt to be planted in Spring. These are for the two NY farms my buddies own in Garrattsville. It will be some years before we see fruit, but you have to start sometime. Our kids and their kids will hunt these lands for decades, God willing. I started them from seed so that I didn’t spend a ton on older trees. If they don’t make it, I’ve only invested $10 or so. No male and female issues. My dad has had one growing, no clue how it ever got there. I bought 6 just to give it a whirl. Maybe global warming will be in my favor. ATbuckhunter
Could you use a wet paper towel instead of it peat moss? Hope it all goes well and they grow. I always enjoyed planting fruit trees and watching them grow.

I always enjoyed planting fruit trees and watching them grow. Probably, but this is what the seed supplier suggests. Easy enough. They wouldn’t do well in Z4.
