I messed up!  It's supposed to be one deer, I am used to the NJ format which allows for two deer, I will update the scoreboard!

Okay so I'm trying to get this right... Each hunter is only allowed one deer for the team. So if I were to take a better buck with better points and spread he would be my only deer and trump the one I already put up? Or if a hunter took a doe and then got a buck, his buck would trump the doe?

That's how I'm reading it.  One deer. 

Buck will upgrade a doe.

Bigger buck will upgrade a smaller buck.

Yep, that's correct.  You can upgrade to a higher scoring deer throughout the season
