Don't think I've ever heard that describing hunting.  Someone that has passed away, ya.  Shouldn't be used for critter or person.

I’ve seen it posted on forums a lot. Moreso about shooting coyotes than deer though

Words matter and generally I'm not a fan of euphemisms but I understand the value of "harvest." 

I also say "died" and not "passed" when someone stops living.

yeah now that you mention it, more common with yote hunters but have heard it with deer.

My grandfather once told me the moment you don't feel a little something for the animal you just killed it's probably time to hang it up. I'm not saying we should be all emotional and weep or anything, but we spend a great deal of our time and energy hunting the amazing animal that is a whitetail and I respect the hell out it. They for sure have beat me plenty more times than I've beat them, so while I don't care if someone says kill or harvest, I do respect the loss of life and hate some of the shit I see posted on social media sometimes. There was a trend on IG last year with guys drinking beer out of fish. Like wtf, just don't film it ya goobers.

I have no issue with "fish bras" on instagram though.
