Otto
Today was "wine racking" day, which means we take last year's squeeze out of the barrel, clean the barrel of all the settled smudge on the bottom, then put the wine back into the barrel again. It's a 2 man job, but having an extra helper is always welcome. Work followed by homemade "hot breads" with olive oil, salt, pepper, cured meats, etc. Peasant food that our Fathers ate. Dessert was homemade sponge cake, rhubarb pie and cookies....and Sambuca and a finish of a nice bourbon pour. Also, today is St Joseph's Day. That plate of breads and cheese is right up there with an Irish breakfast for my last meal. They pushed St. Joseph's Day back to tomorrow since it fell on a Sunday in Lent....are you a cannoli cream or custard guy for your St Joes pastries? Custard for me...cannolis cream is for cannolis! Yes, I would say that meal would be an excellent last supper. Thanksgiving dinner a close second. I’d eat both those desserts anytime! Since my birthday is coming up, we had Rhubarb Pie “my birthday cake” that my wife made and Sponge Cake which my sister made From my Mother’s recipe. That recipe for Sponge cake won the Grand Prize at the NYS Fair is the 70’s. Grand Prize was a brand new microwave oven. crappyice
corydd7
Fresh grilled octopus from a local creek, petite filet, grilled Asparagus and a baked sweet potato. Added some cherry wood for the steak and octopus. It worked very well with the octopus. Redneck4Life, Otto and Robhuntandfish

Wolc123
My wife made stuffed pepper soup with chunked button buck and silver Queen corn for dinner last night. It was very good, and I took leftovers to work for lunch today: Robhuntandfish

But walleye are meant to be fried like turkey are meant to be shot in the face with a scatter gun. It's just science. POW! Right where the corn goes in!
