Been a while since I updated any of my reading. I really got into westerns and back into some horror (my favorite genre) for a while. I’m about 25% into Dan Simmons “The Crook Factory”, a historical fiction based on Hemingway’s hunt for Nazis in Cuba during WWII. Very entertaining so far.

I’ve also started the 2nd book in the Bill Hodges trilogy “Finders Keepers” by Stephen King on audiobook. King is my favorite storyteller, and has made the drive back and forth to Southern Illinois much more enjoyable over the past week.

I’ve talked with several people who hated how it jumped from character to character. I really enjoyed the books, but could never get into the HBO series.

There were several characters in the HBO series that I would like to get into......

Bob Romano is a friend of mine. I also enjoy his books.

I read River King this summer.  I looked for some of his other books and could not find any.  Could you ask him where I can buy some?

I'm still trying to get through Lee Childs' Jack Reacher series. Every time I get caught up my wife's grandmother drops off 3 more books. I have a few business trips coming up and I can get through quite a bit on the planes and at the hotel at night but there will probably more books waiting for me when I get back.

I just finished the memoir of US Grant. I fined him a interesting he was the hammer and Lincoln was the anvil that won the Civil War.

I would like to read the Raise and Fall of the Third Reich. But if I start reading that book it will end up being the last book I read before I die it's so long.

A friend's book coming out in a week. Highly recommend. Fairly raw story of Tony leaving the church, taking up hunting and finding his spirituality again.

I'm doing an Instagram live with him today at 2 CT. Check him out.

In the middle of  The Deerfield Massacre by James Swanson.  Interesting look at what a challenge it was living in the colonies in North America.

I'm all audiobooks...hate reading!! Don't tell my English students!!

I'm  hold for it now.

Just finished Anthony Bourdain's audiobook Medium Raw-very good if you like food! Now listening to one called Truffle Boy...young kid from the Ozarks who somehow found his way into the fine foods market.
