Bill had Good move to trade down in a good heavy reciever Draft class... save a lot of money and still get their target recoever saving  millions...

For the 2024 NFL Draft, the first overall pick is expected to sign a four-year deal worth approximately $38.5 million, including a signing bonus of $24.8 million.

While this is a significant sum, it's worth noting that salaries gradually decrease for each first-round pick. The final pick of the first round is expected to sign a deal worth $12.75 million. All first-round picks sign four-year deals, with the team having the option to extend to a fifth year

For players drafted outside the first round, salaries vary based on draft position. Second-round contracts start at $9.9 million and drop to $6.3 million. Third-round salaries range from $6 million to $5.5 million. Fourth-round picks can expect deals between $4.5 million and $4.8 million, while players selected in the sixth round of the NFL Draft can expect to earn around $4 million over their four-year contracts.

The Raiders had any defender they wanted and went with a TE... again. I know the kid is a beast, but they drafted Mayer last year and they never threw to him!! The Raiders doing Raider things.

I love Bowers and now I can't root for him on the Raiders

The UCLA kid to Colts seems risky too. He was told medically to retire several years ago with neck issues, then came back to play anyway for different school. Seems like he is 1 awkward hit away from career over

The problem is they lose the fifth year extension. That’s an issue if they hit the pick right.

Not if in 3 years or 4 years you have dead money gone and have money to sign extensions then

The extension is there to allow for a team favorable deal for someone who is going to be / is a star. Allows for better contract negotiation. The fifth year is cheaper than a new contract. That’s basic knowledge.

Not really if your paying  out 20 million more for 1st 4  year as a 1st round, vs 5  million  for 4  years.  You have a lot of money to pay for an extension that you didn't  pay upfront on a unknown rookie 1st rounder you hope develops  to where you want to use option year..  many 1st rounders are  not  picked  up in that 5th option year.

Now what did he do?

First was the high speed car accident he and his friends walked away from. Luckily, nobody died. But, now he's accused of assaulting someone in a nightclub. You'd think after the first incident he would just lay low until suspension announced. He's literally played 1 season, won a super bowl, and was setup to be our WR1
