Fished the Mianus River Gorge  in Beford today. Intriguing stream with some deep runs but super tight. No trout today but this place would be cool as hell with rising trout. 
According to stocking chart they loaded it up with rainbows but not sure where. Not an easy place to get it good water...pretty steep drop!

I heard the CT section of that river is better fishing . Maybe near Cos Cob

We got like 30-40 bell ring bites but all light taps. Hopefully next week things beat up. The tiny Striper I caught was by standing next to the rod and tugging the line by hand after a light tap

Use to kill them on big white jigs and white topwater plugs at night on toledo bend res in Louisiana.

My company will be restoring over a mile of the Mianus River in Mianus River Park in CT later this year once permits are issued. The Mianus Trout Unlimited chapter is funding this large project.  I realize it’s not NY, but you will love the fishing there once we’re done.

I watched parts of an old zoom meeting from that chapter - seems like a knowledgeable, dedicated group who did a section of the presentation on the NY side - spoke of native brookies, fall run browns from the reservoir and cringed at the state stocking it.
Im probably heading back there today
